Contest Details

​This contest is sponsored by Moloney's Irish Imports, and is open exclusively to amateur photographers, making it the perfect stage to showcase your talent. Our panel of professional photographer judges will review the submissions and award prizes to the top three photographs in each category! Plus, every accepted entry will be proudly displayed in the pavilion for thousands of festival-goers to admire throughout the weekend.

Competition Categories

You may submit a maximum of two entries per category, with one entry form completed for each photo.  

• People: One or more persons are the dominant subjects portraying an aspect of Irish culture. Winning entries best evoke their subjects' feelings or spirits.  

• Scenery: Photos focusing on the mood of a place or a setting. People may be in the photo, but they must be completely incidental to the picture.  

• Studies in Black and White: Photos of people and/or scenery. Winning entries best use black and white imagery to prompt a distinct feeling or response in the viewer.  

• Pictures from Last Year: Show us your favorite captured moments from the previous year at the Irish Fair of MN.

Photo Formatting Rules

To ensure your work is ready for display, please follow these strict formatting guidelines:

• Size: Photos must be at least 4x6 inches, but no larger than 11x14 inches.  

• Mounting: All entries must be matted. No frames are permitted.  

• Labeling: Entries must be clearly labeled on the front side of the photo with the location of where the picture was taken.

How to Enter

• Complete the Entry Form (one form per photo).  

• Drop off or mail your physical, matted photos to:

    • Store Hours: Wed thru Sat: 11am-6pm & Sun: 11am-4pm (closed Mon & Tue)

Important Dates & Deadlines

• Submission Deadline: All entries must be received by Wednesday, August 5, 2026, by 5:00 pm. Late submissions will not be accepted.  

• Judging & Gallery: Judging takes place prior to the Fest opening. All submitted photos will be proudly displayed in the pavilion for everyone to enjoy during the fair!  

• Photo Pickup: Photos must be reclaimed on Sunday, August 16, 2026, between 5:00 PM and 6:00 PM in the pavilion. If you would like your photo returned to you by mail, you must enclose a stamped, self-addressed mailing envelope with adequate postage with your submission.
