The Curtin Conway Award
Honoring a Legacy of Service to the Irish Community
The Curtin Conway Award is the highest form of recognition bestowed by the Twin Cities Irish Fest. Established to honor extraordinary dedication to the Irish cultural community of Minnesota, the award is named for Leah Curtin and Roger Conway—the visionaries whose commitment and resilience built the foundation of the Irish Fair of Minnesota. Their legacy serves as a beacon for all who strive to preserve and promote our heritage.

The Honor
This award recognizes individuals who demonstrate exceptional longevity of service, unique community impact, and the ability to inspire others.

The Presentation: The winner(s) will be honored on the Main Stage on Saturday, August 8, 2026, at 12:00 PM.

The Award: Recipients receive a $1,000 grant in recognition of their service.

The Legacy: The winner’s name is immortalized on the permanent Curtin Conway Award plaque displayed at the Celtic Junction Arts Center, serving as a lasting reminder of their contributions to our community.
Award Criteria
The selection process is rigorous, led by the Executive Committee in consultation with community representatives to ensure the recipient exemplifies the spirit of the Fest. Candidates are evaluated based on the following:

A Legacy of Dedication: Demonstrated long-term commitment to the Irish cultural community in Minnesota. Examples include years of active leadership in organizing cultural events, deep-rooted volunteerism with heritage organizations, or providing steady, reliable support to Irish community initiatives over a significant period of time.

Meaningful & Distinctive Impact: Evidence of a positive, lasting shift in our community. This may include pioneering initiatives such as launching educational programs to promote Irish culture, leading the charge in preserving ancient traditions, or creating new platforms that allow Irish artists and performers to showcase their talents.

Inspirational Leadership: Serving as a beacon for others to follow. We look for individuals who lead by example through dedicated community service, a commitment to fostering inclusivity, and a unique ability to inspire others to engage actively in promoting Irish heritage.
